On Thursday evening, table jumbo Sheffield United awaits for Liverpool, and in the familiar style that Jürgen Klopp held his press conference before another important match at the top of the Premier League.
There, the German could tell, among other things, that both Curtis Jones would be ready for the match. The former has not been in action for the Reds since 17 February.
– Curtis (Jones) is back and ready for the Sheffield United game. The other boys are doing well too. Diogo (Jota) and Trent (Alexander-Arnold) are training together in a group so it looks like they can hopefully be back in part for team training next week. Ali (Alisson) also looks good. He will also take part in training next week, said Klopp.
On the eve of the press conference, on his way out of the press room, he also confirmed that Andy Robertson, who injured himself in the national team meeting with Scotland last week, is also ready for tomorrow’s game. This is reported by James Pearce in The Athletic, among others.
Endo, Bajcetic and Matip
Jürgen Klopp had really found good form before today’s press conference, so the German also provided updates on several players. One of them was Wataru Endo, who suffered a minor impact injury against Brighton.
It should not be anything serious for the Japanese, but he is uncertain heading into Thursday’s match.
The Liverpool coach also had time to give an update on Joel Matip and Stefan Bajcetic, two players who have been out for a long time.
– Joel (Matip) runs again. He hates it, but at least now he can do it. He was in a lot of pain after the injury, but now he has gotten through it. The season is probably not long enough (to get him back).
– Bajcetic is training fully with the U21 this week, then he will be back with us next week. It is very important, said Klopp.
