This is stated by the NSF in a press release on Wednesday.

Kilde has for a long time directed criticism at the national team agreement and the association’s handling of the situation.

– I have been clear, also in the media, when it comes to my perception of the Ski Association’s handling of this process. Trust has been severely tested, but I still feel that there is now a real will to find solutions, says Kilde.

Money party for Klæbo

Kilde was not interested when the committee was put together in February. To NTB, he elaborated, among other things:

– I really believe in communication, but it has to be with people who are willing to look at things in a constructive way. I don’t think those who sit on that committee have a skillful approach. So I feel that it will be unnecessary for me to sit on such a committee.

Positive step

He says that the parties have come closer to each other recently.

– NSF has recently participated in constructive dialogues with us, and there has been a mutual recognition regarding the necessity of revising the national team agreement. This is, among other things, a result of the athletes’ objections and the associated recommendations from the law committees, says Kilde and adds:

– This has been a positive step in the direction of restoring trust, as we feel that our views are both heard and respected. With this as a background, we commit ourselves to a collaboration to identify and implement good solutions for the benefit of athletes, NSF and our sponsors.

The Stöckl row: The ski circles ring the jump committee after “undeserved” criticism

In short, the dispute is about the athletes having control over their own images and their use. Last autumn Lucas Braathen quit at the age of 23 and pointed to the conflict as one of the main reasons. Braathen later returned to the sport and now represents Brazil.

– Crucial

A new national team agreement must be in place before the 2024/25 season and must finally be approved by the ski board. The selection includes jumper Johann Forfang and cross-country skier Pål Golberg. There are also a number of sponsor managers, in addition to several of the managers for the various skiing disciplines. Alpine manager Claus Ryste is also there

Secretary General Arne Baumann is happy that Kilde is now joining.

– It is crucial for us that an athlete from alpine skiing is on the selection, and with his clear voice and strong position, I am happy that Aleksander has now agreed to contribute to this important work, says general secretary Arne Baumann.
