The 29-year-old will soon be in the final year of his contract with the Bundesliga club, but Arsenal are said to have been told sternly that the player’s future will not be discussed until the summer.

Both Manchester City and Liverpool have reportedly tried to sign Bayer Leverkusen player Florian Wirtz, but the clubs now expect Xabi Alonso’s decision to stay will prevent a move. It is the website HITC that reports that the transition will probably not be possible.

The Manchester Evening News claims that Jadon Sancho could potentially get a second chance at Manchester United, if the club hires Jason Wilcox as director of football. Manchester United are interested in hiring Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna as their new boss, according to Football Insider. The website describes that several sources around the club describe the 37-year-old as “future United manager”. McKenna has previously worked under both José Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjær at the Red Devils.
