Stomach splash for Brann: Knocked out of the cup

The memories of Brann from Levanger are not particularly good. In 2015, they lost 1-4 in Levanger, in what was Rikard Norling’s last match as Brann coach.

On Wednesday there was another setback for Brann in Levanger, Arne Gunnes sent Levanger into the lead after seven minutes and it was also the only goal of the match.

Brann had several great chances during the match, but the scoring never came and thus Brann is knocked out.

– You have to look at what Brann himself brings. They top their team going into this game. We are making some adjustments. It’s a huge scalp for me, says playing assistant coach in Levanger, Jo Sondre Aas to NRK.

Brann’s centre-back Fredrik Pallesen Knudsen was disappointed after the match.

– We simply do not handle the match picture well enough. We create too few chances. We have too little pace on the ball. In addition, we concede a goal out of almost nothing. Then it will be difficult, says Knudsen.

Knut Høibraaten, known from Ballspark in Bergens Tidende, was ready to speak on Brann’s behalf after the match.

– It is the worst result they have had in two or three years. It is a kind of scandal, I would say, he says to NRK.
