– Very important to be able to play football and to disprove some people. I’ll take it from there, says the 20-year-old to VG after his historic goal earned YMCA 1-1 and a point against HamKam.

Petter Nosakhare Dahl, which is his full name, scored in his debut for the U20 national team last winter. The Oslo talent was quickly sold from YMCA to Glimt. Nosa arrived in Bodø in late summer last year, but was not an immediate success.

Top scorer Amahl Pellegrino wreaked havoc on the left side in the Glimt attack and the teenager did not get further than Kjetil Knutsen’s substitute bench.

– Of course, I think I haven’t had enough chances. But it is the coach who decides. I just have to respect his decisions, and rather show myself here, says Nosa Dahl.

He does not think it is a defeat to return to YMCA on loan in February.

– No, by no means. We play in the same series. I just want to show myself at the highest level in Norway, he says and adds:

– It has been six tough but instructive months in Bodø.

The contract with Bodø/Glimt lasts until 2027.

– I take it day by day. I focus on the here and now and don’t think much about it (Bodø/Glimt) now.

– Is it important for you to prove something?

– First of all, I have to prove to myself that I can play football.

– Do you feel that after this match?

– Yes I do. Of course there is a lot to go on as well, but it was a good start, says Nosa Dahl.

Only the victory was missing for a well-playing YMCA in its debut. Nosa believes he should have scored more himself. He had the chance alone with the HamKam goalkeeper, but Marcus Sandberg saved.

He created chaos in the away defense just before scoring in Intility. A post went via Kamma’s Brynjar Ingi Bjarnason and into the post.

– I should have shot myself, he says self-critically.

– He scored on the most difficult chance, smiles Haitam Aleesami. The injured YMCA profile with 31 international matches, has been impressed by Nosa Dahl.

– He has shown it throughout pre-season. A moment of unrest, good speed. When he gets up to speed, many people struggle. He is constantly creating something or the other.

– The scoring was completely raw. You can even try to get a rolling ball towards you, with people in the way, up into the opposite intersection. An incredible achievement, says YMCA coach Johannes Moesgaard.

– What does it mean to have got him back?

– We are so fond of him from before. It means a lot to get Nosa back from Bodø. He has received new references and met new demands. It lifts us that he brings that mentality here with him, says Moesgaard.

The 20-year-old finally got his elite series debut.

30-year-old Robin Rasch also made his debut.

The Kåffa captain ruled most of the game in his very first elite series match.

– I am very happy and proud on my own behalf, he says after a long career at level two and three in YMCA and Follo.

He calls the score “beautiful” and “class”. The contact with Petter Nosa Dahl was clearly good out on Vålerenga’s artificial turf.

– Out on the field, I feel that we have a special bond. I talk to him and he listens. I give him a lot of tips, and I think he realizes that it might be a good idea to listen to someone a little older. I have played a lot of football, although it has not been in the elite series,
