Sport: Elias Vatne became the big hero when he scored the decisive penalty.

Vatne and Mikkel Eriksen sent Norway 2-0 up in the first period. Eriksen scored his second goal for a 3-1 lead, while Niklas Aaram Olsen sent Norway into the lead 4-3 before the third period.

Jørgen Myhre increased to 5-3 early in the third period. The Kazakhs were tenacious and never gave up and hit back with a reduction and equalization to 5-5.

After ten minutes of extra time, it all had to be decided on penalties. Jørgen Myhre scored from his penalty, but Kazakhstan also managed to score. Then the opponent took the lead again before Vatne equalised. He also scored the decisive penalty and secured a Norwegian victory in the relegation battle.

Norway beat Latvia in the group stage, but it did not make it to the quarter-finals as the Latvians beat Slovakia and Slovakia again beat Norway.
