Jürgen Klopp will not meet the press until Friday, but the manager has already provided an injury update. In the last 24 hours, videos taken by some supporters who were on a tour of the AXA Training Center have emerged, and they prompted the manager to reveal a couple of news when the first team had a training session on Wednesday.
Among other things, Klopp was asked how things are going with Alisson Becker, and things are starting to look better for the Brazilian, who has been out with a hamstring injury for over a month.
– Ali is out for two and a half to three weeks, said Klopp.
He also said that Trent Alexander-Arnold is on the road to recovery. The Scouser is still injured but he is getting close. Diogo Jota is training on his own, but the hope is that the Portuguese can be ready for the match against Manchester United next weekend. Klopp also said that Andy Robertson was positive after he had to go out with an injury for Scotland, but he did not yet know how serious the injury was.
Another nice update that appeared was a photo of Joel Matip in training for a run again. It is expected that the centre-back will be out for the rest of the season, but in any case it is good to see that he is making progress in training.
There were only 13 players who took part in Wednesday’s training, as most of the senior players were rested or were on their way home from the national team break. The first full session takes place on Thursday afternoon. Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch took part in Wednesday’s training.
Kieran Morrison (17) was among the youngsters who were allowed to take part in the training. So were Kornel Misciur (16), Trey Nyoni (16), Carter Pinnington (17) and Trent Kone-Doherty (17).
