Journalist Lewis Steele in the Daily Mail brings encouraging news on Thursday regarding the injury to Andy Robertson. The left-back limped off the field with an ankle injury in Tuesday’s match between Scotland and Northern Ireland, but fortunately it turns out that it is probably not a serious injury.

He was examined at the AXA Training Center on Wednesday, and there it should have turned out that it is more about a bang in the ankle than something bigger. James Pearce in The Athletic writes that it is a question of days and not weeks out with injury for Robertson.

Whether he will be ready for Sunday’s game against Brighton remains to be seen. Robertson was out for three months after a shoulder injury he suffered at a national team meeting in October. Fortunately, it won’t be as long this time.

Steele also confirms that Ryan Gravenberch, Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones are ready for Sunday’s game if nothing unforeseen happens in the next few days.

Pearce also gives an update on Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury, and it’s bad news for those who were hoping to have the vice-captain back against Manchester United next weekend. He will instead target Atalanta or Crystal Palace the following week. It is the same period we can hope to have Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota back – the latter may be able to make it to the United game if we are to go by what Jürgen Klopp said before the national team break.
