Two people escaped with minor injuries in a violent accident at Strupen in Balsfjord on Saturday evening. Two trailers collided and the police initially reported that they assessed that the injuries were probably serious for two of the three involved.
At 22.40, UNN’s press contact, Hege Iren Hanssen, reports that a man and a woman are slightly injured after the collision. Both were flown to UNN by ambulance helicopter. They arrived at the hospital at 8:30 p.m.

The traffic accident happened in an 80 zone and it was slippery on the road when the accident happened.
The police state that the trailer on one of the two trailers must have been thrown and crossed into the oncoming lane.
“One of the trailers had passenger cars as cargo, these have been thrown from the trailer and are lying around the scene of the accident. Chaotic,” the police write further.
The road is closed and traffic is at a standstill. Operations manager at the Troms police district, Beate Heldal, informs Nordlys that the National Road Administration’s accident team is on its way to the scene.
The police’s incident leader at the scene, Sander Dale Kittelsen, states that the road will be closed for several hours.
– We received a report about the accident at 19.14, says the operations manager.
The Norwegian Road Traffic Center states that the accident occurred between Høgda and Strupberget. There is a detour via county road 7906 Sagelvvatnet.
