– A 19-year-old woman died after she was involved in an accident with a truck when she was roller-skiing south of Jørpeland today, says police attorney Sveinung Andersen.
The emergency services responded on Thursday to a report of a traffic accident in the Botshei tunnel, which is located between Forsand and Jørpeland, in Rogaland.
A person on roller skis is said to have had an accident inside the tunnel. The sequence of events is currently unknown to the police.
To Dagbladet, operations manager Jostein Reiestad in the police in South-West said that the accident appeared to be serious.
Furthermore, they wrote that there is reason to believe that another vehicle has been involved in the accident.
– We have control over this vehicle and driver, and are continuing our investigations, the police wrote.
In a press release, the police wrote that a person has been deprived of their driver’s license and charged after the accident.
– We have also taken a blood sample from him, and he has been charged in the case, says police attorney Sveinung Andersen.
Furthermore, they wrote that the road may be closed for a long time to come.
