East police district writes at 23.45 that the emergency services are responding to a report of a fire in a building in Vestby.

In an update at 11.52, the police state that the fire is in Skogveien.
The fire brigade is putting out the fire, and it is confirmed that all residents of the house are out and safe.
The home that is on fire is located in Skogveien by Verpet, right next to the Oslo Fashion Outlet and several other commercial buildings. There are also several other residential buildings in the same street. Kjell Nesset, duty manager at the East 110 central, tells Moss Avis.

Lifeless man found after search operation
Both the police helicopter, the Red Cross, Norwegian People’s Aid and other volunteers took part in the search operation in Lier on Thursday evening.
On Thursday afternoon, the police received a report that a man in his 30s was missing from an institution in Lier in Drammen. The man was last seen around 1.30pm on Thursday.
Just after 8 pm, the police reported that a search operation had been launched, but around 01 am, operations manager Tommy Eriksen informed Drammens Tidende that the man had been found dead.
– The search operation ended in a tragic outcome, he says to Drammens Tidende, and states that they have confirmed who the person is and that next of kin have been notified.

Armed police arrested a man in his 30s
Armed police moved out in connection with a violent incident in Sokndal municipality.
Reports of damage were also received at several addresses.
That’s what the police in Sør-Vest wrote on X at 01:21.
A man in his thirties arrested without drama
The victim, also a man in his thirties, is said to have been beaten with an iron bar.
According to the police, he does not appear to be seriously injured.
Victims seek medical attention themselves.
The police are carrying out interviews at the scene and are investigating the incident further.

The US is planning a new weapons package for Ukraine
The US is preparing a package of arms deliveries worth 6 billion dollars to Ukraine. Among other things, the country will receive more anti-aircraft missiles for the Patriot system.
The plan is for Defense Minister Lloyd Austin to present the package when he is on Friday in a video meeting with colleagues from Europe and other countries in the contact group for Ukraine – known as the Ramstein group – US sources say.
The upcoming package is part of a long-term support program for Ukraine, and it could take months and even years before the weapons are in place in Ukraine.
