(Drammens tidende / Nettavisen) LEARN: On Saturday, it became known that a politician in the Lier Labor Party has been reported for having taken around two million kroner from the local team’s money.

The person in question also has a relationship with LO Drammen and the surrounding area. Drammens Tidende has been in contact with the head of LO Drammen and surroundings, Sindre Green, he refers to the regional head of LO Buskerud.

Jan Petter Gundersen is regional manager of LO Buskerud. He confirms that LO has also reported the person concerned.

– We confirm that a report has been submitted from LO Drammen and the surrounding area. LO has submitted a separate report, which has no link to Ap i Lier.

– What circumstances is the person being reported for?

– It is natural to look at all access the person in question has encountered. That’s all I can say, Gundersen replies.

The person in question has resigned from all positions of trust in the Labor Party.

Gundersen says that the person in question will be taken care of.

– There are several nuances in matters like this. We have been concerned that the person should be taken care of, and this is now done by knowledgeable personnel on the medical side and thus not by LO. We have made sure that the person has now received the help needed in the situation and into the specialist health service. It is pure routine.

He continues:

– Then it is the other side, when things like this happen, that the case is reported. The local association has done that, says Gundersen.

Beyond that, Gundersen does not want to give details about what the person in question is being reported for.

Drammens Tidende has tried to get in touch with the person who has been reported, but has so far not received a reply.

“No comment”

Drammens Tidende has been in contact with the Labor Party at municipal, county and national level. No one wants to comment further on the matter or say anything about how the party looks after the person in question.

In the press release Ap sent out on Saturday, it is stated that the relationship was reported after the suspicion arose.

– Our goal is to handle the situation in an orderly and responsible manner. We are cooperating with the police and will contribute to a fair investigation of the incident, said leader of the Lier Arbeiderparti, Per Arne Bredesen, in the press release.
