The Italian biathlete will hold a press conference on Wednesday where she will announce whether she will continue as a biathlete or whether she will quit. The Italian Ski Federation reports this to Dagbladet.
There has been speculation for several years about how long the 34-year-old will continue as a biathlete. The decision will now be made, Dagbladet is informed.

The 33-year-old was second overall in the World Cup two years ago. With three Olympic medals, four World Cup golds – two of them from Anterselva – and 18 World Cup victories, Wierer has been one of the world’s best biathletes for many years.
Now a long and successful biathlon career may be over.
A few weeks ago, Dagbladet spoke to Giorgi Capodaglio, a journalist in the Italian Fondo. He follows Wierer and Italian winter athletes closely throughout both winter and summer.

She has been a leadership figure, and it is therefore difficult for the Italians to imagine the sport without Wierer, Capodaglio told Dagbladet.
Several in the biathlon community have stated that they hope Wierer will continue until 2026. Then there will be the Olympics at home in Anterselva.
