– The goods should not have been sold

Frøya Salmon is recalling two salmon products after the discovery of the bacteria.

Listeria has been found in the products “Frøya mid loin” and “Frøya back loin” from Frøya Salmon, CEO Henrik Andersen confirms to VG.

This only applies to products with batch number 123569.

– The product is only sold via OdaHome delivery service for food. , and there you know who has bought the products. We have approached the customers and asked them to throw the item away. They get the money back, says Andersen.

According to him, however, the findings that have been made are far below the Norwegian Food Authority’s requirements for listeria.

– Frøya has its own policy of zero tolerance for listeria, says Andersen.

He also states that the item should never have been for sale in the first place.

– The goods should not have been sold, but ended up being so anyway. Now we are looking at exactly what went wrong and what we are doing to prevent it from happening again, says Andersen, and clarifies:

– We will now review together with Oda exactly how the error occurred. The most important thing in the first instance was to recall the item.

VG has contacted Oda, so far without receiving a reply.

Andersen says that the danger lies in the fact that if someone stores the product incorrectly, for example beyond the expiry date, they lose control over the development of bacteria.

How many have bought the goods is unknown, but Andersen says that it should be a small number.
