The G-Class retains its iconic design, a look that has remained virtually unchanged for the past 45 years. The exterior design of the new models has only been subtly modified, with visible changes including redesigned front and rear bumpers and new rims. The A-pillar has been given new cladding, and together with a spoiler lip on the edge of the roof, it contributes to improved aerodynamics and increased acoustic comfort. These elements were originally developed for the first all-electric version of the G-Class.

Classic elements such as the unmistakable door handles, the distinctive sound when you close the door, robust protective strips, the prominent spare wheel on the rear door and the distinctive turn signals remain unchanged. The reversing camera has been relocated to a central position on the rear bumper, enhanced with a wash system to ensure clear visibility even in muddy conditions.

Under the bonnet sits a well-known and well-tested 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine that delivers 585 horsepower and a maximum torque of 850 Nm. It uses mild hybrid technology, equipped with a 48-volt electrical system and integrated starter generator (ISG), which ensures increased performance while reducing fuel consumption.

The electrification gives it a boost of 20 horsepower and 200 Nm for a short period. This means that the Mercedes-AMG G 63 accelerates from 0 – 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds and has a top speed limited to 220 km/h. With the AMG Performance package, the limited top speed is increased to 240 km/h and acceleration is reduced to just 4.3 seconds.

The interior has become even more functional and luxurious with the integration of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system and a range of advanced safety and assistance systems. At the same time, the traditional elements such as the handle on the passenger side and the switches for the three differential locks are still central elements in the interior. The new OFFROAD COCKPIT provides quick access to relevant functions for off-road driving.

The Burmester® 3D surround sound system now has Dolby Atmos, which gives the music more space, clarity and depth. The MANUFAKTUR range gives customers the opportunity to customize the interior and exterior further, and the range has been expanded in the new G-Class. There is a wide selection of nappa leather upholstery, exclusive moldings, decorative stitching and gorgeous details to choose from.
