On 2 May, the Greenstation charging points at Gjøvik, Byrkjelo and Straume will be closed.

On this date, they will change uniforms and be prepared to enter the operating system of Kople.

The following day, 3 May, the chargers are opened again, now as Kople charging points, reports Kople.

Elbil.no has written several articles about Greenstation – including the one above.

Greenstation had great ambitions to expand, but never managed to become a major player in the Norwegian fast charging market.

Nevertheless, Greenstation distinguished itself with several exemplary characteristics. Among other things, they had dynamic charging prices that were continuously adjusted against the spot price in the electricity market:

The charging company Greenstation first in Norway with this:

Here you can fast charge at a spot price

Now that Kople is taking over, this dynamic price model is going away, according to marketing and communications manager Tine Holm-Hansen at Kople.

– It is a concept we have considered, but which we will not be able to introduce from the start on these chargers. In that case, this had to work across our 7,000 chargers, both with us and in collaboration with our roaming partners. We are concerned that the charging price must be clearly visible, predictable and clearly communicated to customers. This need must therefore be covered in a good way, even if the charging price varies, before we possibly introduce a dynamic price, she says.

However, there were several other good features of the Greenstation – how will these survive the Kople switchover?

Greenstation distinguished itself with the possibility of card payment right from the start, in addition to information screens, queuing system, number plate recognition and Autocharge, among other things.

– Unfortunately, the info screens must be removed. But when it comes to card payment and Autocharge, Kople is working to have both parts ready in good time before the summer holidays, both on these chargers and the other chargers in Kople’s charging network, says Holm-Hansen in Kople

From Friday, it is Kople that will take over the three charging stations that Greenstation managed to establish in Norway – and the good news is that these stations will be continued, and that with the Kople acquisition they will thus become part of Ladeklubben.

– The takeover of these charging facilities is important to us, as it both covers gaps in our charging network and strengthens our presence in these areas, says Joar Brunes, general manager of Kople, in a press release.

The chargers have an open customer relationship, so customers can choose their favorite from over 30 different charging chips or apps that Kople has an agreement with – including Ladeklubben.

Kople’s drop-in payment is the third option, where customers can choose to pay with a bank card online, or with Google/Apple Pay.

Payment terminals are installed on the chargers. Kople is working on these to be in operation well before the summer holidays.

– If customers need help charging, our Norwegian-speaking charging support is available 24/7. At kople.no there is a user guide and information about electric car charging, including an overview of commonly asked questions and answers, says Brunes.

Greenstation with a new focus

Since its inception, Greenstation has developed user-friendly charging concepts for both passenger cars and heavier vehicles.

However, at the end of 2023, the company was taken over by Tungbil Lading AS, a charging operator aimed at heavier vehicles.

This company was also recently acquired by Uno-X Mobility, we could read a week ago.

The new owners have decided to only take on the projects aimed at the heavy vehicle segment and that Kople take over projects aimed at passenger cars.

– Although our approaches have been slightly different, we are very happy that Kople is taking over the Greenstation chargers. Then we know that customers will have a good charging experience at these locations in the future as well, and get good customer service when there is a need for it, says Sindre Wergeland, general manager of Tungbil Lading AS, in the press release from Kople.
