REASON: – We received a warning about the wagon train at 09.42 on Good Friday. It is about a wagon train that has ended up in the ditch. It is not about any drama or personal injury. There are also no traffic challenges on site. The vehicle will eventually be recovered, says traffic operator Per Morten Trymer to Trønder-Avisa.

According to the Norwegian Road Traffic Agency, recovery of the train was started just before 12 o’clock, and during this operation one lane was closed. At 3 p.m. the wagon train had been removed.

Closed over Steinfjellet

At 12.46 on Friday there was also a message from the Road Traffic Center that county road 773 above Steinfjellet is closed due to bad weather.

The police report a snow pike on the west side of the Steinfjell tunnel, on Fv. 773 – and that several cars were stuck in the snow. The same applied to the plow truck.

The Road Traffic Center (VTS) wanted to be notified.

– We received a message at 12.44. A motorist had come out of the tunnel, heading west. The person reported snow shovels and snow jibs, and that both the plow and other vehicles were stuck, explains police operations manager Roger Mogstad to Trønder-Avisa.

Got help down the mountain

Just after 3 p.m., traffic operator Linn Nilsen at the National Road Administration’s Road Traffic Center says that all cars are now gone from the mountain.

– It is the contractor who reports it. They have probably used several plow trucks to help them down from the mountain, she says.

Nilsen further explains that the road is still closed and will remain closed until a new assessment is made at eight o’clock on Saturday morning.

– It is the contractor who makes that assessment, specifies the traffic operator.

She also adds that only county road 773 is closed in Trøndelag on Friday afternoon.

Elsewhere in the county, traffic appears to be running as normal.

Hit sign

There were challenging driving conditions on the E6 north of Snåsa on Friday morning.

NA’s journalist on the spot tells of a slippery and rutted road, and also recorded that a car had driven off the road and cut down a sign at the exit to Bjørgan on the E6 in Grong.
