The police stopped public holiday work

--

Officers from the Troms police district have this morning moved to an address on Kvaløya. Reason: Breach of public holiday peace. Carpenters were at work at the address in question.

– The noise was a nuisance for neighbours, and in light of the times we are in, the work was finished, inform the police at X.

Easter, with its many public holidays, stands out as a time with great potential for breaches of the law on public holidays and public holiday peace, as many people take the opportunity to, for example, redecorate.

In serious cases, breaching the public holiday peace can result in fines.

The days covered by the legislation in the current holiday are: Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Sunday. Easter Eve ends up outside.
