It was a smiling Johnny Depp who met Dagbladet outside the Grand Hotel in Oslo on Friday. Dagbladet were the only ones on site, and the actor and guitarist took time for a short chat with the newspaper’s correspondent.
– Nice to meet you, says a smiling Depp, before he shakes hands with the reporters.
Depp arrived in Norway on Tuesday, and was initially to play a concert at Sentrum Scene, together with guitarist Jeff Beck, on Friday. However, the concert was postponed due to corona infection among one of the band members. From what Dagbladet can see, neither Depp nor Beck are infected, as both boarded the nightliner bus without a face mask.
Depp says that he is disappointed that there was no concert this time:
“Unfortunately we did not get to play the concert, but we will return in a couple of weeks,” Depp told Dagbladet.
– I have mostly just been waiting to play. We did not get out much, he says.
In the days since the star arrived in Oslo, he has been little observed, and has probably mostly stayed at the Grand Hotel, where he has lived during his stay.

Breakfast at the Grand
Earlier today, Depp is said to have eaten breakfast at the Grand Hotel in Oslo. As far as Dagbladet knows, Depp will continue to Stockholm on Friday in a private plane.
According to the plan, Depp, Beck and the rest of the band will return to play two concerts in Oslo on July 2, before taking the trip on to Koengen in Bergen.
