Norway’s hope Gåte has climbed several places on Norsk Tipping’s odds list after Wednesday’s dress rehearsal in the Eurovision Song Contest. On Thursday, they fight in the semi-finals.

The countries that will take part in Thursday’s semi-final in the singing competition had their first of three dress rehearsals on Wednesday afternoon. Thus we got to see the stage show Gåte plans to show the whole world in the live TV broadcast.

The performance seemed to go smoothly, and afterwards Norsk Tipping considers the Norwegian song’s chances of winning to be higher than before.

Before Norway took the stage, odds of 150 were given to tip Norway as the winner of the final itself on Saturday, which placed Gåte with the song “Ulveham” in a shared 14th place.

– Smelled burnt

After the dress rehearsal, the odds have been updated, and now you “only” get 100 in odds for betting on Norway. That places Norway in joint 9th place. Norway has overtaken both Armenia and Lithuania and is now on a par with Great Britain, Finland and Greece, which used to be ahead of us. (The check was made on Wednesday evening.)

In front of TV 2, several Eurovision experts express excitement about what Norway delivered at the dress rehearsal.

– It was so intense that it smelled burnt, says president Morten Thomassen of the Norwegian Grand Prix club.

He is supported by Håkon Røssum, who is head of Eurovision Norway.

– Norway delivered beyond all expectations, the scenography is top notch. Simply epic! Norway is going to the final and can definitely reach the top with this show, he tells the channel.

Croatia favorite

Norway’s first obstacle is now to progress from the semi-finals on Thursday. The bookmakers’ favorite in the final is still Croatia, with odds of 2.10 at Norsk Tipping, followed by Switzerland, Ireland, Italy and Ukraine. The trend is the same on international betting sites.

With odds of 100, it is considered quite unlikely that Norway will win. Norwegian Marcus & Martinus, who represent Sweden in the final, have odds of 200 and are in joint 15th place on the betting list. They are already qualified for the final since Sweden is the host.
