Wheelchair user: The wheelchair user was refused entry on the 201 bus in Haugesund and was explained by the bus driver that there were new rules applicable from 1 May.

Communications manager Jon Dagsland at Kolumbus has investigated the case.

– Wheelchair users have access to buses in Haugesund and everywhere else Kolumbus runs, and it is a shame that the passenger had a negative experience, he writes in his reply.

On 1 May at 22.45 a complaint was submitted by the traveller. The next morning, the customer center responded to the complainant.

– There we wrote that all passengers are welcome to travel with us, and the matter was followed up with the operator. The feedback from there is that the person concerned was allowed to stay on the bus, but that the driver had previously expressed a concern about the weight of the wheelchair. The driver now understands that weight is not a problem on wheelchairs and apologizes for the misunderstanding, writes Dagsland.

He states that the bus company is grateful that people travel by bus.

– We welcome this passenger and everyone else on board as often as they wish, he concludes.
