On Monday, Ullensaker municipality announced that Gjetrang has accepted the position of municipal director of health and social care. Gjetrang has a long and varied background in management in specialist and municipal health services.
– Ullensaker municipality has an important social mission, and to be allowed to contribute to the further development of health, care and welfare services, I am looking forward to getting started, she says.

Municipal director Erling S. Kristiansen believes her rich experience and expertise were decisive when she was chosen as the new municipal director for the area.
– She has the prerequisites needed to lead the municipality’s health, care and welfare services. Gjetrang has an impressive CV. She has extensive experience in both strategic management, development of specialist health services and operational operations, he says.
The new municipal director for health and social care will be in place in August.
– I am looking forward to starting in August, and to getting to know the municipality, the businesses, development plans and the operational operation of the municipality’s health services. But most of all I’m looking forward to getting to know all the good people who work in the municipality and the residents who need our services, says Gjetrang.
Trained nurse
She has done this before she got the position in Ullensaker municipality:
- From 2015 to 2022, Helle Gjetrang was director and managing director at Diakonhjemmet Omsorg AS.
- From 2011 to 2015, she was director of development and later health director at Akershus University Hospital.
- From 2007 to 2011, she was clinic manager at the drug and addiction clinic at Aker University Hospital
- . She also has extensive experience as a nurse, nurse anesthetist and team leader.
- She currently works at the Nursing Home Agency in Oslo municipality, where the task is Impact Assessments (KVU) of new healthcare buildings.
- Gjetrang has an education as a nurse with an extension to a master’s degree. Studied personnel administration at Bergen School of Economics and completed “Master of management” at BI.
