That’s what Tjuefire writes in a press release on Monday. Twentyfour owns the online newspapers Medier24 and KOM24.
– The market for job advertisements was weak throughout last year, but we chose to keep the staff to give gas to Medier24 and KOM24. Unfortunately, the start of this year has also been so weak that we see no other option than to reduce staffing to ensure a strong financial foundation. We still have great faith in our niche investment, and plan for further growth, says chairman Erik Waatland of Tjuefire in the press release.
At the same time as cost cutting and a reduction in staffing, a reorganization is being carried out which is primarily intended to build Tjuefire AS for further growth.
Erik Waatland takes over as responsible editor from Cornelia Kristiansen, who is leaving the company. Siss Godager-Andersen continues as managing director.
– We would very much like to continue with Cornelia, but unfortunately she has declined to only lead Medier24. She has made a fantastic effort as editor-in-chief, and leaves behind a more professional newsroom with good cohesion, skilled journalists and a long series of traffic and subscription records on her conscience, says Waatland.
Employees were notified of the changes on Monday morning. The reduction in staffing is initially done with voluntary severance packages and in close dialogue with employees and safety representatives.
