The Planning and Building Agency has carried out a survey to find out how the tool “Klimanorm Bergen” has functioned after one year of use – here are the results.

Who has responded to the survey?
There were 17 responses to the survey, with the majority of respondents being planning consultants and advisors. The respondents give varied answers when it comes to how much time is spent on climate standards in a project. There can be various reasons for this. Some may be more familiar with the tool than others, or that the size of projects varies. Regardless of this, it is useful to know what the industry has experienced after one year of the climate norm.
Climate ambitions have increased
The survey mainly shows that the respondents largely believe that both the tutor and the calculation tool are user-friendly and easy to understand. At the same time, the answers show that most people use climate standards, which are tools in dialogue with the customer, and that understanding of climate measures has increased. The Planning and Building Agency is very satisfied with how the industry has accepted the tool and followed through on increasing its climate ambitions.
The survey also shows that the tool has potential for improvement. Something that is highlighted is that the climate norm should be much better adapted to the various steps in a project, that there should be clearer guidelines for how this is to be followed up and that it must be communicated more clearly that the climate norm is about climate ambitions. Only 50% of the industry feels that they can use climate standards as a tool in dialogue with the Planning and Building Agency. We now want to work to increase this proportion.
What happens to the results?
In the survey, we received some input on the content of Klimanorm. We will take a closer look at these when we are going to make adjustments to the tool. Follow the theme page for climate in planning and building matters for updates.
