It is Bypakke Nedre Glomma that announces this in a press release on Monday morning.

Most in Sarpsborg without a bomb tag

The exact average that daily passes one or more of the total of 23 barriers in Nedre Glomma is stated to be 113,960 in the period from 20 March up to and including 30 April. On average, each of these passes gives NOK 15.21 in income to Bypakka Nedre Glomma.

– It is far too early, and a far too short measurement period to draw conclusions. After a year of collecting tolls, the figures will be more reliable. The financing of Bypakke Nedre Glomma seems robust and there is reason to believe that the income will be as calculated, says managing director Jostein Haug in the press release.

In the same press release, it is stated that 89.8 percent of the vehicles that drive through the barriers in Sarpsborg and Fredrikstad have a barrier chip. This means that every tenth motorist who passes pays an unnecessary amount for each pass.

– The proportion of chip passes in the vehicles that pass the toll stations in the Nedre Glomma region is 89.8 per cent. 91.4 per cent in the toll stations in Fredrikstad and 88.2 per cent in the toll stations in Sarpsborg. This means that every tenth motorist pays an unnecessary amount in tolls. It is possible to get a 20 per cent discount on the toll rate by signing an Autopass agreement and getting a toll tag, says Jostein Haug in the press release.

Decrease in traffic after toll opening

Cars in rate group 1 are vehicles with a maximum total weight of 3,500 kilos, as well as passenger cars in category M1 with a valid chip and agreement – for example motorhomes and vehicles with a maximum of nine seats. The rate in rate group 1 is NOK 32 per pass, but with a valid Autopass agreement and chip you get a 20 percent discount, and pay NOK 25.60.

Zero-emission vehicles – including electric cars – pass for half price, as long as you have a toll agreement and tag, i.e. NOK 12.80 per pass.

Bypakka Nedre Glomma also states in the same press release that the National Road Administration’s traffic measurements show a decrease in traffic after the toll opening.

– This is something many people note in the form of them saying that there are fewer cars on the roads when they are out in traffic, says Jostein Haug in Bypakke Nedre Glomma in the press release, which also states that zero-emission vehicles make up 31.1 percent of the total traffic through the toll stations in Sarpsborg and Fredrikstad.
