The police are investigating a shooting incident at Linderud last night, following the discovery of empty shell casings and ammunition at the scene.

“We are carrying out various investigations at the scene and working to clarify who has been involved and whether it is connected to other incidents”, they write in a press release.

The police were tight-lipped about the incident for a while. Avisa Oslo’s reporter went up to the scene, where the police set up cordon at an area outside the Norwegian Military Academy.

A police car and several police officers were on the scene.

Earlier on Sunday, the police stated that they were working on interviewing witnesses and obtaining video material.

Findings

The incident is linked to the discovery of ammunition and empty shell casings, and it is someone associated with the Military Academy who is said to have made the discovery, and then alerted the police.

Operations manager Bjørn Gunnar Nysæter confirms this to Avisa Oslo.

At 20.45 the police are still on the scene.

– Our intention is to collect information that can shed light on what has happened, says Nysæter.

Based on information from video recordings, the police believe that the incident happened on the night of Sunday.

They do not want to go into details, as the investigation is still in an initial phase.

– We are also not quite sure what has happened, says the operations manager.

No suspects

– Are there any injuries as a result of the incident?

– It is central to what we are doing. We cannot say that anyone has been injured, but that is one of the things that we are in the process of clarifying.

– We have no one who has the status of suspect, charged or arrested in this case.

– Is the incident connected to the Military Academy?

– There is no connection to the Military Academy.

According to the police, the site of the discovery and the area the police are investigating are outside the War College area and military area.

The discovery was made in a car park.

The police only received a report late in the afternoon on Sunday.
