This year marks 15 years since Nicklas André Sydow established the used car and car foiling company Tintline in Tromsø. As of today, they are based in Breivika, and things are going just fine, according to Sydow himself.

But now he and his family have decided to move south, and Tintline has been put up for sale.

– The company is doing very well, we are well established. But we will be moving to Vestfold during the summer – we want to try something new. New network, new acquaintances – and I have already started the process of establishing Tintline there too, says Sydow to Nordlys.

With family

It is the desire to try something new that draws the family south. Sydow’s wife, Marlén Antonsen Sydow, has run the toy shop Nøtteliten in the center of Tromsø. It has now been shut down.

– We also have some family in the south. And then we want to be a little closer to the world. There are many reasons, says Sydow.

Now he hopes to find the right buyer for the company.

– I have several interested parties, but I really want the right buyer. It’s not like we must sell. It would have been nice to have two departments – so we are willing to look at different models with a view to sales, says Sydow.

– Raw cool all the way

Sydow describes Tintline as a well-established company, with a good place in the market. As of today, only Sydow himself is listed as an employee.

– Running Tintline has been really cool all along. We have lots of nice customers, lots of nice people, and I see no reason why it shouldn’t continue. We have had a steady curve since inception, essentially, stable growth throughout. It’s a really nice place to be.

In the sales advertisement, Sydow writes, among other things: “Good contacts within acquisitions, transport and supplier agreements. A very favorable lease agreement with premises of approx. 480 sqm, centrally located in Tromsø. 2 large gates and nice offices. Own heated department for foiling/solar film.”
