Olaussens delivered an extremely strong stage and contributed greatly to the Borlänge club ending up winning. The star Tove Alexandersson secured the triumph on the last stage.

IFK Göteborg followed in second place, while Halden secured a strong third place.

– We have a very young team, and we are very happy with top third place. It’s not something we in any way expected in advance, said anchorwoman Megan Carter Davies.

Sunday’s relay was historic in the sense that it was the first time that the women also ran night stages during the Swedish Grand Relay.

NTNUI was also in the lead and was in second place after four stages, while veteran Anne Margrethe Hausken Nordberg ran Nydalen’s SK right up to the lead on the penultimate stage.

When Megan Carter Davies went out on the last stage, Halden was ninth, with just over two minutes up to then-leading Nydalen. In the last stage, there were therefore major changes to the list.

Halden’s team, which ended up being the best of the Norwegians, fielded Minna Wingstedt, Alina Niggli, Ana Isabel Toledo Navarro, Inés Berger, Svetlana Mironova and Megan Carter Davies.

Nydalens SK and NTNUI finally finished in 6th and 9th place respectively.

Victoria Hæstad Bjørnstad and Ingrid Lundanes ran for reigning champion IFK Göteborg, who therefore finished second.

In the men’s class, NTNUI came fourth. There was also a victory for Stora Tuna.

The Norwegians Oskar Spets Storhov and Kornelius Kriszat-Løvfald ran for Linné’s team, which came second.

There were also four Norwegian runners on IFK Gothenburg’s team who finished third: Håvard Sandstad Eidsmo, Vegard Kittilsen, Kasper Fosser and Elias Jonsson.
