After the plane with Bhatti landed, he was taken directly to prison in Kongsvinger.

On Saturday there was a detention meeting in the Oslo district court.

In the decision from the district court, it appears that they believe it is likely that Arfan Bhatti psychologically influenced Zaniar Matapour to shoot and kill several people on 25 June 2022.

Will keep him imprisoned

Now he is imprisoned until 1 June without access to visitors or to read letters.

Bhatti himself was not present when the district court decided this.

Police attorney Ingvild Myrold ​​tells NRK that he will demand that Bhatti be jailed until there is a separate trial against him as the suspect in the Pride shooting.

– I think it will be difficult to get a trial this year, says Myrold.

All next week, Bhatti will be brought in as a witness in the ongoing trial against terrorist accused Zaniar Matapour.

– We want to hear Bhatti’s view of the accusation against him. But he has the right to refuse to explain himself as a suspect, we respect that, says the police attorney.

Don’t want to say anything

Bhatti’s defender, John Christian Elden, says that Bhatti will not say anything in court.

– He will not explain himself as long as he is accused in the same case, says Elden.

On Thursday, the news came that Norway had reached an agreement with Pakistan on the extradition of Bhatti.

– When we conclude this, it may give us more answers to the terrible thing that happened on the night of 25 June, said Minister of Justice Emilie Enger Mehl (Sp).

According to lawyer Elden, it came as a surprise to Bhatti that he was to be extradited to Norway.
