The man who is charged with the knife drama at the Nationaltheatret in central Oslo on 1 May is not able to be questioned on Thursday, the police say.

The knife incident happened at Nationaltheatret subway station on Wednesday afternoon at 5.45pm. One person suffered stab wounds to an arm and was treated for minor injuries by an ambulance at the scene.

The accused ran after three boys in the direction of Slottsbakken armed with knives. There he was arrested by armed police.

– He is not able to allow himself to be questioned today, says police attorney Trine Elisabeth Selnes to NTB on Thursday afternoon.

– He is being cared for in the health track, and there is currently no possibility of a prison meeting, she says further.

The man must be produced for a preliminary examination, a preliminary assessment which will clarify whether it is necessary to carry out a full forensic psychiatric examination.

The accused has been appointed lawyer Berit Reiss-Andersen as his defender. She has not yet responded to NTB’s inquiries.
