We are now continuously receiving quarterly figures for the period we have left behind. So far, the figures in Norway have been a bit on the weak side, and we also see this among Nordnet’s customers who net sell shares for NOK 25 million.
Private investors at Nordnet traded shares for NOK 24.1 billion in April, and net shares for NOK 25 million were sold. Aker BP reigns supreme over the most purchased shares, with a net purchase of NOK 199 million. MPC Container Ships tops the sales list, with net sales of NOK 168 million.
The stock market month of April has been characterized by quarterly figures both at home and abroad. Although interest rate cuts globally seem to be long overdue, the big technology giants have delivered the goods, which has contributed to good returns on the American stock exchanges. Here at home, we have seen the big stock exchange locomotives deliver figures that have been received as mediocre. Despite somewhat weak quarterly figures, increased raw material prices have contributed to a positive month on Oslo Børs, which was up around 3 (?) percent in April.
- The world’s central banks are still torn between growth and inflation. The American central bank, the FED, no longer only has stubborn inflation to contend with, but also now an unexpected drop in GDP growth. In other words, the market is very interested in hearing what Jerome Powell communicates to the market this week, says Mads Svendsvik Johannesen, investment economist at Nordnet.
About the most net purchased share in April, Aker BP, the investment economist states:
- The company delivered figures that came in completely flat. However, a strong oil price through the first quarter has lifted the share through April.,
Nordnet customers sell shipping and buy the big stock exchange giants
During March and April, Nordnet’s customers bought the large heavy stock exchange locomotives and sold shipping shares. Most purchased are Aker BP, DNB and Norwegian Air Shuttle.
At the sales peak in April, MPC Container Ships, Frontline and TGS reign supreme.
- Frontline has been a fantastic share to own in recent years and the share is up over 30 per cent so far this year. This has probably caused several long-term investors to reduce a little and secure a profit, concludes Mads Svendsvik Johannesen in Nordnet.
