The emergency services rushed to Flesland after a report that a plane might have problems landing.

– It has been a full preparedness situation, said operational manager Skaar at Flesland.

The main rescue center coordinated the work on the situation.

Emergency landing without drama

– We received a message at 15.07 about a plane from Widerøe that had problems with landing. It was the main rescue center that reported, says operations manager Frode Kolltveit in the West police district.

The message was that the plane had defects or faults in a brake. Later it became clear that the plane had an error message on the hydraulic system.

– The emergency landing went as normal and without drama. Bergen Airport put on full alert. We had a good dialogue with the plane.

Kolltveit says that the plane had a passenger list of 50 people, and a crew of three people.

– The plane landed at approximately 15.28. Then everyone was ready to help.

No damage to either aircraft or people has been reported.

Third time with Widerøe trouble

This is the third time in April that a Widerøe flight has had to turn around due to problems. Communications manager at Widerøe, Catharina Solli, has previously told BT that they see no connection between the two incidents.

She also says that this time.

– There are completely different things and scenarios in all three incidents, she emphasizes.

Solli says that in this case the plane had quite a high speed when they went in for landing, which meant that they declared a Mayday.

– Everything went very well. This is actually a scenario the pilots have been practicing for quite recently, so it was on their fingertips.

Takes care of the passengers

Solli emphasizes that the most important thing now is to take care of the passengers.

– It is of course sad and regrettable for the passengers, and we will look into the incident and find out what has happened. We always do that, she says.
