And then it is worth noting: The flood destroyed the August fishing. No trout over six kilograms were reported in August 2023.

The vast majority, as usual, registered in May: 28 pounds!

The last one entered on 22 July.

2023 was another year with record-breaking entries for the fishing competition, which was upgraded with new and simpler digital registration: skjema.ha.no. This season we’re taking it a step further, mainly covering the competition online, rather than a weekly paper overview. We will still get good stories and status into paper – but no longer as a permanent page every Saturday.

Dare we hope for a new dream summer?

Salmon fishing

This year’s season is here, with Hamar Arbeiderblad’s classic fishing competition – with salmon fishing in Namsen as the main prize – at Svein Romundstad’s on Lilleøen farm. Whoever is drawn for the main prize gets one day of salmon fishing in Namsen, including accommodation, four hours of rowing – and 12 hours of shore fishing.

Last year’s winner was Kjell Snarud from Brumunddal, who entered a great trout caught in his neighborhood river, classic Brumunda.

Also this year, the classes are Mjøsa trout, river trout, sea trout, pike, perch and grayling. The fish entered must have been caught in the former Hedmark county.

Class winners at the end of the season (when the clock strikes 1 September) receive a gift card of NOK 1,500

Every week we draw a winner of a gift card of NOK 500. Everyone who takes part receives a diploma as usual.
