– The case has been extremely stressful for her. Not only what happened, but to an equal extent sharing in social media afterwards, says the girl’s legal aid lawyer, Curt Andre Leier, to NRK.

On Monday, the trial starts in Møre og Romsdal District Court, where seven court days have been set aside for the case. The now 18-year-old man partially pleaded guilty to aggravated rape when the court was set, writes TV 2. The 19-year-old, on the other hand, denied criminal guilt.

The indictment describes how a gang of boys caused the young girl to become heavily intoxicated, and that some of them then assaulted her. According to the indictment, pictures and films of the abuse were shared with others afterwards. It was tips about these photos that put the police on the trail of the case at the end of July last year.

Shortly afterwards, five people were charged with sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 14. The three youngest escaped prosecution. Their cases have been dropped since all three were under the criminal minimum age.

Aggravated rape of children under the age of 14 carries a maximum penalty of 21 years in prison. Minors cannot be punished with more than 15 years’ imprisonment.
