Chef at Restaurant Frantzén in Stockholm, Antti Lukkari, has died.

That’s what Bjørn Frantzen, who owns the restaurant, writes on Instagram.

– I am completely devastated to have to announce the tragic and sudden loss of my dear friend, golf buddy and colleague Antti Lukkari, head chef at Restaurant Frantzén, he writes.

Rally star (55) died

Lukkari’s father, Hannu Lukkari, also confirms the death to the Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanom.

– Will be hugely missed

– Antti died after being treated in hospital for an illness that occurred while he was on holiday. My thoughts go out to Antti’s family and everyone close to him, continues Frantzen.

Restaurant Frantzen has three Michelin stars.

Lukkari’s girlfriend has also posted a post on her Instagram account, where she writes that the chef was battling metabolic acidosis, kidney failure, sepsis (blood poisoning) and TTP.

– Heartbreaking

The Finnish newspaper Iltalehti writes that the 29-year-old had worked at the restaurant for almost six years, and that he became head chef in June 2022.

Owner of the Danish restaurant Noma, Rene Redzepi, also comments on the death on Instagram.

– Heartbreaking news. Our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Antti. Rest in eternal peace, chef, he writes.

– The world is becoming a grayer place

Hufvudstadsbladet writes that Lukkari has won several awards for his cooking, including for best assistant chef at Bocuse d’Or, the world’s most prestigious cooking competition.

Chef Hans Valimaki writes on Instagram that the 29-year-old died on a holiday trip to the Philippines.
