– Having said that, the responsibility for insurance should lie with the person using the product, and therefore bunads you rent out are not insured through your own insurance, Kase tells KK.
For example, valuables insurance is only for personal use. If the bunad should be damaged while it is rented, you will not be covered for the damage.
– We have an exception for rental in our terms and conditions. The responsibility then lies with the person renting the bunade. If you choose to hire a bunad, you can check with your insurance company what applies, as it will vary.
She says that in Fremtind you will be covered by your contents insurance, if the tenancy agreement contains an obligation to insure the bunad, which initially has a deductible of NOK 4,000.

He therefore recommends regulating the relationship well between the tenant and the owner.

Several people rent out the bunad
Both on second-hand markets such as Finn, Tise and Hygglo there are a large number of advertisements of bunads ready for hire.
And Finn can report an increase in the number of advertisements on bunads for rent.
Communications adviser in Finn, Linda Glomlien, nevertheless points out that there is no separate rental category that can be added to the ad, so there is not a complete overview of the rental ads.

– So far this year, there are 213 advertisements for bunad for both women and men for rent. In the same period last year, there were 183 advertisements.
