This weekend we open the new Edda 7 to the public. It’s so gorgeous! I am so happy! Movies are – as you know – best at the cinema. And movies are even better in a cinema hall with good architecture, well-thought-out planning, solid craftsmanship, walls and ceilings with good damping, comfortable ventilation and temperature, an amphitheater with good sight lines and comfortable chairs – and top quality sound and image.

But before we get that far, a bunch of minds have discussed a vision, formulated case papers for the administration and city council, and quite a few have agreed that, yes, this is what we want for the people in the city we live in. Some keep order finances and tenders, other quality-assures progress, HSE and artistic decoration.

One of the nicest things about being able to take part in the process it has been to build the new Edda cinema is to see competent and committed professionals excel within the niche that is their field. The nicest thing is to see how good the result can be when all of these work together and complement each other in an exemplary manner.

I am humbled and grateful that we have been allowed to upgrade the cinema here in the city. We are not quite there yet, but I am already excited and excited about what I see will be the result.

And it makes me very happy to know that the individual efforts of everyone who has been involved in the project and every penny spent will contribute to everyday magic for almost everyone who lives in our city.

Cinema is the cultural offer outside the home that is used by most people, and we who work at Edda cinema must do our best to fill the rooms we have been allowed to build and upgrade with good experiences for children and adults – whether they come to be entertained, inspired or enlightened, to laugh, laugh, be startled or touched. It’s their cinema, our cinema. Those of us who see films are best together – in a really good cinema.
