Was hanged together with Jonas Aarseth Henriksen before the murder – NRK Buskerud – Local news, TV and radio

--

NRK has previously written about how a few weeks before Jonas Aarseth Henriksen was killed, someone tagged “Tyster Jonas” in eight places in Hønefoss. NRK and other media chose to censor the fact that “Homo Mats” and “Homo Arne” had also been tagged in several of the places.

The tagging was done at the beginning of August. The man they were trying to send a message to was Mats Arne Pedersen. He is married to Henriksen’s sister.

– When we discovered it the first time, we actually thought that now they are screwing up. Now they are on a roll. It’s so childish that it takes the cake. So then we really just shake our heads, says Mats.

Been scared

The reason why someone wanted to send Mats a message, he believes, is because he went around, both together with Jonas and alone, to try to find out why someone wanted Jonas so badly.

So on 17 August 2023, Jonas Aarseth Henriksen is killed. It takes many weeks before anyone is arrested for the murder.

A total of five men have now been charged in the case. All five deny having had anything to do with the murder.

During these weeks, time passes very slowly for the family. And the thought sneaks up on Ida. The sister of Jonas and the wife of Mats.

What if someone comes after her husband too?

– I have been very scared, yes, says Ida.

Violence alarms

When a serious incident occurs, such as a murder, the police always make security assessments. In this case, the police chose to issue violence alarms to several members of Jonas’s family.

– You were afraid something would happen to Mats too?

– Yes, I was. It took a long time before anyone was arrested. When it goes this far, it also says a lot about the people who have been involved in it. It is impossible to know what they are capable of, says Ida.

Keeping Jonas alive with pictures

In the middle of the wall between the kitchen and the living room, there is a large picture of Jonas. It is the biggest eye-catcher when you enter. It has been important to the family that Jonas is visible and involved in everyday life.

The couple has two small children. A four-year-old girl and a one-year-old boy.

– Our daughter misses Jonas very much, and it is very heavy and heartbreaking to hear when she tells how unfair it is that she no longer has an uncle, says Ida.

– She turns in bed at night. She can’t sleep and cries because she misses her uncle, Mats adds.

– It is tough to stand in.

The youngest child never got to know his uncle.

– But we will now make sure that he becomes one anyway, says Ida.

Dinner leftovers

When she needed to talk to someone, it was her brother she called.

– He was very kind, generous, warm and protective.

The memories of Jonas keep coming. Like when Ida has to clean up after dinner. They had eaten lasagna before NRK came to visit. Ida portions out the leftovers.

– Jonas was always keen to bring leftovers for lunch, smiles Ida.

– I would have given a lot to get those moments back.

Ida remembers that her brother Jonas would always bring leftovers to work the next day when he visited.

Today they ate lasagna. – This would have been perfect for Jonas, says Ida.

It has now been over seven months since Jonas was killed. At the same time, it feels like it happened yesterday. The time perspective somehow disappears, says Ida.

– What was it like to see big brother scared?

– Very painful. We’ve kind of always looked out for each other and … It kind of feels like you’re trying to help, but that what you’re doing doesn’t make any difference. Not being able to take away the terror and pain he had was very painful.

Marks the absence

Although a long time has passed, the absence of Jonas is something that still affects both the couple and the family in everyday life.

On the morning Jonas was killed, he had been training with Mats. Jonas was looking forward to buying a house with his partner. He was going to invest in the company. He looked ahead.

– Just a few hours later, he is no longer here. It’s not just something you sleep off, says Mats.
