As expected, Fellesforbundet and Norsk Industri go to forced mediation to settle this year’s wage settlement in the frontline profession. They thereby cancel the voluntary mediation.

Forced mediation with national mediator Mats Wilhelm Ruland begins on Wednesday. If the parties do not manage to agree there, there will be a general strike from 7 April.

32,108 registered

Front subject settlements usually go to forced mediation.

The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions has announced the termination of employment for 32,108 members who are on the collective agreement Industrial Agreement.

14,300 can be taken out in a strike if the mediation between Fellesforbundet and Norsk Industri does not succeed.

The notice of resignation covers 134 companies. 113 of these are organized in Norsk Industri, while the others are companies with which the Federation has a direct agreement.

In Sandefjord can 50 employees in Slagen Rør og Sveiseservice ASwho have a direct contract at Indistriforekomsten, are called out on strike.

– Effective strike

Fellesforbundet’s leader Jørn Eggum emphasizes that the goal is to reach an agreement through mediation. But if this does not work, a strike is a fact.

– This first withdrawal will contribute to an effective strike that will hit the employer side hard. Should we end up in conflict, there will be more withdrawals continuously, says Eggum.
