The police in Agder, Kristiansand | Car driver drove away from the police in Lillesand – died

The Bureau opens an investigation, following the death, the police said a little before 06:00.

The descent occurred when the police wanted to stop and check the car at 3 o’clock after it had driven erratically on the E18 from Kristiansand in the direction of Lillesand.

Vanished out of sight

The police in Agder reported on “X” that the car was speeding up, and that the police patrol was far behind because of the high speed. The car then turned off towards Lillesand, where it met another patrol. According to the police, this never started a pursuit before the car disappeared from sight.

At 3.23 the police received a report of a car that had driven off the road at Skuggevik in Lillesand. This turned out to be the same car that had driven from the police just ahead. The police first stated that the person in question was out of the car and awake when health personnel carried out inspections.

KRS writes that the car was unable to complete a roundabout, and that it went straight through the guardrail, which broke in two.

The car then continued 100-150 meters down a cliff, before it landed in a pile of stones opposite a cluster of houses below the road. The car was completely crushed in the roundabouts, writes the newspaper.

Air ambulance to the scene

At 04.10 the police announced that the air ambulance had landed on the scene and that the police’s emergency manager had arrived.

At 04.11 the police write the following on X: “One person has now been confirmed dead at the scene. Life-saving first aid was performed, but unfortunately his life could not be saved. Forensic technicians and the accident team from the Norwegian Road Administration have been called out.

The next of kin have been notified of the death.
