New landslides at the football field at Dale

– I thought at first that the dinner had boiled over. But then I spotted the cloud of smoke.

On the night of Wednesday there was a big landslide in Dale in Vaksdal. Giant stones ended up on the football pitch of Dale IL, and the stands were smashed.

On Maundy Thursday afternoon, new landslides occurred in the same area.

Maren Johannesen lives on the other side of the river, where there are several houses.

– I heard a crash. Then I went out and filmed, she says.

She says that the race area is the same as the night of Wednesday.

– They have said that this would happen, so it is not surprising, says Johannesen.

Getting started with pork chops

Merete Sellevold sat at home while the man was preparing the pork chop dinner.

– I heard a strange sound, and at first I thought the dinner had boiled over. But then I spotted the cloud of smoke, says Sellevold.

She lives right on the other side of the river, and got a good view of the new slide.

– I heard it well on the night of Wednesday as well.

It is the football pitch that has taken the most damage from the demolitions that have taken place in recent days.

– It is tragic, the whole thing, said firebrand Kai Ove Grenasberg to BT on Wednesday.

The houses are on the other side of the river, and are not exposed.

Blocked

The football field at Geitabakken is closed until the geologist can give his assessment.

Vaksdal municipality announced on Wednesday evening that a geologist is scheduled to come to the area on Sunday.

The municipality asks that everyone respect the barriers that have been set up.
