Joakim Lystad, chief of staff on duty at OBRE, tells Avisa Oslo at 06:15 that the fire has spread to an adjacent building.
– We came to a building that was completely engulfed in flames. The building it burned in is a wooden house of 600-700 square metres, and it is considered lost. Radiant heating has caused the fire to spread to an adjacent facade roof, and we are in the process of getting this fire under control. As of now, there is no danger to life and health, he says.
Around 07.20, OBRE’s emergency manager, Jørgen Lie, says that they have managed to save some, but that two departments at the nursery are completely damaged.

Lie says that they were lucky with the direction of the wind on the night of Tuesday, which meant that they were able to set restrictions.

There was complete over-ignition in approximately 500 square meters when the fire brigade arrived, he says.
– A firefighter has been sent to the emergency room to check for radiant heat, but nothing dangerous. It was very hot here at the start.

During the extinguishing work, the fire service had more than 15 vehicles on site. The crews worked hard to prevent the spread. At the same time, preparations were made for evacuation should it become necessary.
The nursery itself is divided into five sections, and at least two of the middle sections must be covered, writes NRK. The fire crews hope to be able to save three departments, respectively on the north and south side of the building.
