The case is updated.
– This is a very serious situation. There is no doubt about that, says Easee CEO Jonas Helmikstøl to DN.
On Tuesday, Swedish supervisory authorities stopped the sale of the company’s electric car chargers in Sweden.
It happens after the Swedish authorities have asked questions about Easee’s chargers, and the company has previously been warned of a possible sales ban.
Tibber announces on Wednesday afternoon that they are pausing the sale of charging boxes from Easee.
Marketing director Tommy Ellingsen at Easee confirms the company’s mass redundancies and that it needs to raise up to NOK one billion.

Over 100 are laid off
Now Easee has to raise money in the billions. At the same time, Heimikstøl says that the company will have to lay off more than 100 employees.
– We have to collect money. And we have to get money quickly, says Helmikstøl.
– How much?
– Between one and a half and one billion kroner, he says, to DN.
Heimikstøl says that it will be painful to lay off employees. The company will retain those who are critical to keeping the wheels turning. The layoffs will be temporary.
When asked how many people will be made redundant, the Easee managers say that he does not know.
– We honestly don’t know. There will be many. Over a hundred, but we don’t know, says Helmikstøl.
