Barely two weeks have passed since Princess Kate (42) revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer, following the planned operation in the stomach region.
She shared the sad news in a video on Instagram, after a period characterized by speculation and rumors about her health and condition.
The rumors gained ground after several international photo agencies chose to take a photo of her with the children, when it was revealed that the photo had been manipulated.
The princess herself took the blame for having edited the picture in photoshop.
– Like a dark cloud
Now Getty, which is among the largest image agencies in the world, has chosen to attach a new warning. This time during the video where Kate reveals that she has cancer.
It has been so-called “flagged”, writes E! News.
“The video was submitted by a third-party organization and therefore may not follow Getty Images’ editorial guidelines,” writes Getty.
The remark immediately caused reactions online, after several users discovered the message. It was like pouring fuel on the rumor fire around Kate, writes E! News further.
– Should have shut up
Because even though the princess herself came out with the cancer announcement in a video, there are still many who have their conspiracy theories about information being kept hidden and what’s worse.
Facing the website, Getty Images now explains why they have flagged the video.
– It is the standard for all content we have received from a third-party organization – which in this case is Kensington Palace.
News director in the French photo agency Agence France-Presse (AFP), has previously commented on the manipulated photo of Kate and the children.
– Confidence in the material we get from Kensington Palace has been weakened, but I hope it is something we can rebuild over time.
– A betrayal
Se og Hør’s royal house expert, Caroline Vagle, is not surprised that the rumor mill has flared up again as a result of this.
– This is food for the conspiracy gang! Just the fact that someone is even looking for that kind of thing in the image agencies’ texts speaks volumes about the desire to find “wrongs”. Actually, this is just fixed procedure on the part of the image agency. But even so, the rumor mill will be full of fire again.
– You would think that Kate’s cancer diagnosis was enough to stop the unrestrained grafsing about the situation, but at the time it wasn’t.
