For 75 years, Circus Arnardo has delighted and impressed young and old all over the country. It is a very vital and vigorous mood spreader that is embarking on a new tour. Now Eigersund gets his turn, and the circus director promises a lot of fun.

With the circus in the municipality for so many days, there will also be a trip around town:

On Friday and Saturday, they will bring some of the circus artists to the city center streets to create life and stir. There will be juggling and a parade in the centre, and some surprises, it is promised.

Every season is a party for Circus Arnardo, but an anniversary is an anniversary, which circus director Are Arnardo takes extremely seriously.

-Absolutely. We are the country’s oldest traveling cultural institution, established by my grandfather in 1949, and an anniversary gives us a good reason to give the big extra for our audience, says Arnardo in a press release.

Lavish performance

Because it is a lavish show he presents in the anniversary season, where the laugh department in particular has been greatly enhanced.

– This year we have not just one, but three clowns who will ensure that the doors of laughter are unlocked. And we are talking about clowns, each with their own long, humorous CVs, says Are Arnardo, who reveals that they have all been guests of Arnardo’s audience in the past.

– Then we have seen that the Norwegian circus audience has taken them to their hearts. That is why they are back, he says.

Clown André is a laughter producer with incredible inventions and ideas, and whose body language says it all, silently, but with a warm blanket of laughter that spreads beyond the audience.

And André plays through the entire performance, says Arnardo.

Joy and laughter

The duo Hector & Pierrot also visited Cirkus Arnardo a few years ago, and with great success.

– The two are classical and musical clowns who join our long tradition of skilled clowns, says Are Arnardo.

Hector and partner Pierrot also appear between the other artists’ numbers, in addition to their own main number. And that to the musical joy and laughter of the audience. Because here we are talking about surprises and clever inventions far beyond the threshold of the laughing stock.

A real anniversary party should bring smiles, laughter, wow effect, speed, elegance and what you didn’t think was possible.

Fourth generation

The fourth generation Arnardo has also developed into high-class circus artists. Arne Otto Luigi Folco Arnardo has also impressed internationally with his diabolos.

Last year, he won the prestigious “Circus Friends Award” during a large circus festival in Prague.

– Luigi has developed his act with diabolos, and he has really got up to speed on both tricks and elements in operating several diabolos at the same time, at high speed, says a proud father and circus director.

There will also be a lot going on in the air. Tünde Szabó is on an elegant sky flight under the circus dome. Because with her self-choreographed and elegant aerial number, she impresses the audience, promises Arnardo.

On a tight line

Ballerina on a tight line gives a sense of elegance, at the same time it looks so simple. Something it is far from. For line dancers Marine Durand performs line dancing at a high level, and with many years of training and experience behind her.

It will also be fast, it is advertised.

– Fortunately, we have a good amount of that this year as well. And I can highlight “Kenya Boys”. A group of lively guys from Kenya who enter the arena with speed and rhythms from the first second.

These are audience favorites who also serve acrobatics and limbo dancing of the very fiery kind, it is explained.

– We also have with us the wonderful Alfio Macaggi, who changes hats faster than the eye can see. Because here we are talking about tempo juggling at lightning speed, so it’s just a matter of enjoying yourself, says Are Arnardo, who also brings heartthrobs from the animal world in the circus cortege this year.

Always animals in the menagerie

Cirkus Arnardo has always been a great friend of animals, which we still are, even though we no longer have the big exons, says Arnardo.

– But funny and playful dogs make us smile. And donkeys have proven that together with horses they can be elegant in a circus arena. We also have festive parrots who love both the audience and their colleague Kevin Probst. Here there is interaction and joy from all parties, he says.

75 years after grandfather Arne Arnardo established his Cirkus Arnardo, he wants to look back, remember and continue a cultural tradition that has delighted so many all these years.

– It obliges, but at the same time it gives us great pleasure. Because as grandfather said; “The greatest joy one can have is to make others happy”.
