In the summer of 2022, Madison “Maddy” Baloy experienced constant stomach problems. She spent the next year changing her diet in the hope that it would solve the problem. But in February of the following year, she suddenly started vomiting blood.

“Are you alive?”

Baloy thought it might be due to a stomach virus. Her fiancé, Louis Risher, urged her to seek medical attention.

The X-ray revealed abnormalities in her colon that required emergency surgery. Doctors found more cancerous tumors, and when she woke up the next day, Baloy received the devastating news:

She was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer.

– I had a lot to say

Coming to terms with the news was not easy for the former kindergarten teacher.

Reveals: Got cancer

– Immediately I thought: “Okay, now my life has become completely different”. There was no longer any reason to make plans for a house and children, Baloy said in an interview with People in March 2024.

Originally, she was given a maximum of five years to live. After feeling “alone and isolated”, she decided to document her new life and at the same time show what it was really like to be a young woman living with terminal cancer.

– I knew I had a lot to say, she told People.

– At the same time, it is important that we allow ourselves to experience every single feeling while we are here, because we will not be here forever.

Tattoo, wedding and chef meeting

Millions of people have been touched by Baloy’s TikTok videos, where she shared openly, honestly and openly about her new life under the username Fruitsnackmaddy.

In one of her most popular videos, Baloy talks about the list of things she’d like to get done before it’s too late.

Sharing cancer news

The list included, among other things, getting a tattoo with grandma, having a “beautiful wedding” and meeting celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

The video quickly went viral and eventually caught the attention of Ramsay, who made sure Baloy got his wish.

First time in the kitchen

In February of this year, he flew her down to Miami to have dinner with him at one of his Hell’s Kitchen locations. Then she was his “date” at a restaurant opening in South Beach.

Along the way, they made a TikTok video together, where we see Ramsay dancing with Baloy before he gives her a hug.

“GORDON RAMSAY! The greatest honor and the coolest night of my entire life. And for everyone who made this happen; I love you!”

“Thanks for teaching me how to dance, first time ever in a kitchen❤️,” Ramsay replied in the comments.

“My first and last dance”

In a statement to People on Thursday, May 2, Baloy’s fiance, Louis Risher, shared the sad update.

– Has been demanding

– Madison died peacefully last night.

He added that she was “surrounded by love”.

– I turned 27 yesterday, actually. I held her hand all day and that was all I needed, Risher continued.

The same day Tisher shared the news, Ramsay shared the video of him and Baloy dancing together in an Instagram post.

“She was kind, funny and a true inspiration to me and my three girls. Knowing that we were able to make one of her dreams come true means a lot to me. She will always be my first and last dance in the kitchen, and never forgotten,” Ramsay wrote.
