Jakob Stordalen opens up: – Wants five to seven children

Hotel king Petter Stordalen (61) is the father of Emilie (32), Henrik (29) and Jakob (27), and in recent times they have also stepped forward in the public eye.

It is clearly Emilie who has most often made headlines, and she has, among other things, been in “Kompani Lauritzen” and has been on the red carpet several times.

– Grew apart

Now it is the youngest son Jakob who gets attention. He is a guest in the podcast “Harm og Hegseth”, where he opens up about his private life.

– I’m a little too happy to have a big family, I think, because I want five to seven children, he says in a video clip from the podcast, according to VG.

Presenter Morten Hegseth (38) mentions in the interview that the 27-year-old has never had a girlfriend, and asks if he is stressing about finding someone to make seven children with.

– I don’t really stress about it. When I wake up 50 years from now, and look back on my life, I think it would have been a much greater enrichment if I had some children and an extended family around me then.

Petter Stordalen’s three children all have different roles in Strawberry, the company that until recently was called Nordic Choice Hotels.

He had the three children with his ex-wife Ingrid Fuglehaug Stordalen. The ex-couple separated in 2003 after 17 years as husband and wife.

Earlier this year, the hotel king talked about his divorce with his ex-wife in the podcast “I wish I knew…”.

Stordalen talked about how he was very busy with work when the children were small – first when he took over the department store Steen og Strøm, and later when he started his hotel company.

When the children got older and started school, the marriage with Ingrid ended.

– Divorce is not something that comes from one day to the next, it develops over time. There was no drama in it, but an evolution that we grew apart a little, Stordalen said candidly in the podcast.

Furthermore, he said that it was during this period, when the children started to reach their teenage years, that he decided to be more present. He has managed that, pointed out Stordalen.

– I felt it more like: “If I don’t make an active choice now, if I don’t realize that now I have to get on the field properly, then I’m in danger of losing the children”. Everyone loves their children, so I thought I won’t lose them, I’ll try to be there, he continued.
