Housing for rent: The reactions hail after this

--

Housing ads go viral as they are for various reasons. For example, Dagbladet has previously written about various inventions brokers make to attract interested parties – and about furnishings that attract attention.

This time, however, it is the layout which makes people raise their eyebrows.

– Naughty

“Areal-efficient” turns out to be an adjective many brokers like. Thus, it is not surprising that exactly that word is used for the studio apartment in Burleigh Mews, England, which is now making its way in social media.

– It is so rude that this is legal. You feel cheated, rages a follower in the Facebook group “Viral housing ads”.

The follower talks about the broker’s description of a studio apartment that is being rented out these days – and it is the bedroom in particular that gets reviewed.

– So silly

In the property advertisement, which is shared on RightMove’s websites, among others, it is stated that the property has “a large bedroom with an open plan layout and a private bathroom”.

But if we are to believe the advertisement, the description has been embellished somewhat:

In the pictures, you see a toilet, a sink and a shower cubicle pressed close to the bed.

– Something so stupid. Here, there are first-class places to watch when someone shits. Nobody wants this, writes one follower.

– This apartment is not for shy souls, comments another.

Picks on everything

Although the floor plan is somewhat special, estate agent Frank Innes clarifies to RightMove that the apartment has been completely renovated and is particularly modern.

He also says that the apartment has many good key qualifications, and highlights electric heating, allocated parking and full furniture as several of these.

But even there, Facebook followers and users on Reddit find reason to react:

“That sofa is going to catch fire, it’s right in the oven,” reads one comment.

So it turns out that there is a fairly tight crawl space available for rent, and several people seem skeptical about this.

– It is probably more than good enough for a student. But I agree that the bathroom in particular looked incredibly cool, writes one on Facebook.

The apartment is still vacant, and the ad has been online for several weeks. The deposit is set at close to NOK 12,500 – and it can be taken over continuously. But so far few have expressed their interest.

– They have to make a proper bath first, then you will see people calling, comments a follower.
