The leader of the Russian republic of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, is again trying to show that he is healthy as a fish.
For months, rumors have swirled about the health of the warlord nicknamed “Putin’s bloodhound”. One of the rumors is that Kadyrov will be struggling with kidney failure. In April, sources claimed to the Novaya Gazeta newspaper that the Chechen leader is suffering from necrotizing pancreatitis.
According to Novaya Gazeta, the illness has started the process of looking for Kadyrov’s successor. Kadyrov has contradicted the rumors several times.
The last stunt in the PR campaign is a clip of Kadyrov pushing a car. Kadyrov’s assistant, Umar Daudov, has posted a video of the car push on Instagram. There, Kadyrov pushes a Toyota Land Cruiser SUV in front of him with the following message in the text below:
– The dogs bark, the caravan moves.
Not many hours passed after the publication of the Novaya Gazeta article in April, before Kadyrov published a video on the social media VKontakte.
The clip is of him himself at the gym, where he warms up and lifts weights, writes the Russian online newspaper Meduza, which is also based in Latvia.
Pro-Putin propagandist Margarita Simonjan attended the ceremony where Vladimir Putin was installed for a new five-year term as president earlier this week. Kadyrov was also present. Simonjan could report that the Chechen leader is in top form.
– His health is excellent. I checked it manually – the biceps are made of stone, stated the propagandist.
