A hacker attack was targeted on Monday morning against the logistics company Skanlog, which is a major supplier to Systembolaget in Sweden.
That’s what Dagens Industri writes. Aftenposten was the first to report on the case in Norway.
– We have been attacked centrally through a cyber attack, which has led to our entire system being down until we can fix it and get back up and running, says Skanlog’s Swedish CEO Mona Zyko to Dagens Industri.
She informs the newspaper that it is a ransom attack, where the attacker uses malicious software to take the victim’s system “hostage” and demand a ransom to make available a password that unlocks the system.
The attack creates problems for distribution and means that certain goods may be sold out before the weekend, writes Aftonbladet.
– This may mean that certain items may be sold out within a few days, says Teodor Almqvist, press officer at Systembolaget, to Aftonbladet.
All beverage categories at Systembolaget may be affected, writes the newspaper.
– About a quarter of our sales volume can be affected, which means that it can affect the availability of certain beers, certain wines, certain spirits, and so on, says Almqvist.
Although some products may run out, there is no danger that the shelves will be completely emptied.
– At the moment, the total offer is not affected to any great extent, but it depends on when distribution can start again. We don’t know that right now, says Almqvist in Systembolaget.
